Set in Da Nang in the 1970s, the film tells the story of a group of young friends nicknamed “Wild Horses”, consisting of six girls: Hiểu Phương, Mỹ Dung, Tuyết Anh, Bảo Châu, Thùy Linh, and Lan Chi. After going through many changes during that decade, the group disbanded, each with their own lives. One day, after accidentally meeting Mỹ Dung 25 years later and learning that her friend is suffering from terminal cancer, Hiểu Phương decides to reunite the old faces in the group.
From the music to the lead actors, everything is well-suited, reviving emotions about the youthful days of each girl. After watching, it’s guaranteed that everyone would want to live as brightly as in their youth, to lead a meaningful life.
The first time I went to see a Vietnamese movie and witnessed the audience applauding like that. Even the older people sitting behind me appreciated it, saying it’s a really good film.
I got to know about Jun Vu, so I watched ‘Tháng Năm Rực Rỡ.’ The characters perform well, although I haven’t seen the Korean version.
